It is one of the rare web investments whose effect is immediate and indisputable. And yet a majority of Moroccan VSEs still operate with a personal address.
Why does a business address change anything?
In short: Because it proves that the company has a domain name, therefore a verifiable existence.
A free personal address does not bind anyone: anyone can create one in two minutes. An address in the name of a domain requires registration, an annual payment, and an identity.
The effect is particularly marked in B2B and export. A European buyer who receives a quote from a free address becomes suspicious, often without even admitting it.
Second benefit: each email sent recalls your domain name, therefore the address of your site.
What solutions exist in Morocco?
In short: Three levels: messaging included with the host (often free), a complete professional solution, or a redirection service.
- Host messaging. Included in most offers. Sufficient for a modest volume. Limit: often dated interface and average spam filtering.
- Professional suite. Messaging, shared calendar, storage, videoconferencing. Allow 50 to 100 MAD per user per month. Justified from three to four employees.
- Simple redirection.
contact@yourdomain.maredirects to your home address. Free, but replies are sent from the personal address — the effect is lost.
For a freelancer or a small business, the host's messaging is almost always sufficient. We say it even if it doesn't bring us anything.
Why are my emails going to spam?
In short: Almost always because of three missing technical records: SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
These three settings prove to the recipient servers that your emails really come from you and not from a usurper.
- SPF declares which servers have the right to send on your behalf.
- DKIM cryptographically signs each message.
- DMARC tells you what to do if the check fails.
Without them, your quotes end up in spam and you never know: the customer thinks you haven't responded.
The configuration takes around thirty minutes and radically changes the reception rate.
How many addresses to create?
In short: At least contact@ and a nominative address per employee. Avoid multiplying service addresses.
Recommended structure for a Moroccan small business:
contact@— public address, displayed on the site and the Google page.first name@— one per employee, for nominative exchanges.billing@— if the accounting is separate.
Avoid info@, service@, commercial@ at the same time: customers no longer know who to write to and messages are lost.
